What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to store. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, work in a comparable way: they let a website remember something on your device. Some are essential to a feature you ask for, and others are used for analytics or advertising.
What this website uses today
This website does not currently set advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. It uses two small items of browser storage, both first-party and both to make the site work as you expect:
| Name | Type | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| devdex-consent | Local storage (first party) | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected optional tools, so we do not ask on every page. | Up to 12 months, then we ask again. You can change it at any time with Cookie settings in the footer. |
| devdex-enquiries | Local storage (first party) | Remembers when you last sent an enquiry and a short fingerprint of it, so that repeated or duplicate submissions can be paused. It is never used to identify you for advertising and is not sent to us. | Entries are removed after 24 hours. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings. |
These items exist only to remember your choice and to protect our inbox from repeated submissions, so they do not need your consent under UK and EU rules.
Third-party content
The site loads typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Google receives your IP address and browser information when your browser requests those files. This website does not set cookies for this, but Google's own policies apply to what it does with the information.
Tools we may add
We may choose to add a live-chat service or a human-verification check to the contact form. These providers may set cookies or use similar technologies when they are active. If we do this, we will list them here with their purpose and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before they run.
Your choices
When you first visit, a banner asks whether you want to allow optional tools. Both choices are equally available:
- Accept all: optional tools we have switched on, such as live chat, may run.
- Reject all: only the essential storage described above is used, and optional tools do not run.
Rejecting does not stop you using any part of the website. You can change your mind at any time by choosing "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page. If you switch optional tools off after allowing them, the page reloads so they stop.
Managing cookies and storage
You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. Doing so will not stop you from using this website. If you clear the enquiry-limit item, the contact form will simply forget your recent submissions.
Most browsers also offer a private or incognito mode that clears this information when you close the window.

How we handle personal information more generally is explained in our Privacy Policy. If you have any questions about this policy, email hello@devdex.co.uk.
We may update this policy as the website changes. The date at the top of the page shows when it last changed.
